We had a wonderful weekend with the family - just missing the Barrios family! We even talked about some options for next year that might make it possible for them to join us. Here is Jackson's excellent photo of the group in front of our house.
On Friday, we went on a tour of the SC Johnson buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Rich and Alex L. were good enough to talk to a group waiting nearby and discovered they had been shut out of a tour so we were able to add them to ours. It was very interesting, but photos were discouraged.
On Saturday, we went to the Racine Zoo. The emu ran away so we don't have any Alex and the Emu photos, but Karen and Rich fed the giraffes. It was International Giraffe Day! Who knew? Karen has photos, hint, hint.
Sunday we said goodbye to the Michigan contingent in the morning and to the Chicago contingent in the afternoon.
Monday, we took Sally and Alex down to Indiana to visit Granny Jo and endured the threat of tornado in the evening. We stopped at Karen and Rich's house and saw that they actually had storm damage in their neighborhood. Otherwise, we felt no bad effects.
Tuesday, Sally and Alex flew home, but we had time before then to make a visit to the beach with Dan, Roslyn and Daphne. It was Daphne's first time at the beach. She was not impressed favorably with the sand but she loved the water. Her parents had to drag her away before she got too chilled.

ReplyDeleteNo, I luddited on the post. There was supposed to be another sentence about the turtle we saw on our driveway when we came home from our morning walk.
