News from The Hoyer/Gages

Haven't communicated much this summer...
We have been busy doing so many things. First of all, here's our new tree we planted -- it's a korean spice viburnam tree form. Planted mid June and doing well so far.  So much rain we're getting great tomatoes now!

Last night just opened Chi Town Clown Revue -- at Theatre on the Lake which every summer does a "best of" week long run for different theatres.  Pam & I are doing Madame Bustiere & Croquette in "The Monkey."  It went great last night -- four more shows!

Jackson's last day at U of C camp "Game Changer: The Source" which was supposed to be a technology driven game but he feels it was kind of a bust.  He would rather stay at home and play games on his laptop.

Gigi's two camping weeks went well but mostly she's been working on her cat stories on her laptop.  Hear she is before camp with Sammy & Emma and later with Emma in their tent.

This past weekend we had our "vacation" -- low key compared to last year's trek to Yellowstone & Grand Tetons.  We went to the Osh Kosh Air Show on Saturday -- gorgeous weather, stunning flying, esp. liked the re-enactment of Pearl Harbor "Tora Tora Tora!"  Kept thinking how much daddy would've loved to see the show and tour all the air plane exhibits.  Dan you would've loved it! There was also a Swedish Guy who flew a solo jet strapped to his back -- amazing, tho he was so high up we couldn't see him till he landed.  He looked like Iron Man.

On Friday we visited Beloit College so Jackson could have a tour.  It comes highly recommended and was "on the way" -- it turned out to be a fabulous place!

Here is the main building which dates from the 1800's and below the science building which is brand new and LEEDS certified green building.

And LO AND BEHOLD -- the highlight of our visit -- The Angel Museum is in Beloit -- Kathie do you remember reading about this place when we were doing the Angel Project?

 Here's one of the 400 or so "Black Angels" donated by Oprah Winfrey -- Cher was on her program and said "I've never seen a black angel" so people all over the country started sending her black angels, many of them hand made.  There were about  50 jam packed cases each about 6ft high with 4 - 8 shelves. Whew!

Meanwhile, I've been working on "Paquetes" (Packages) with Pam for our show Aug. 31 in Chihuahua -- The Strongylus Festival el Arte de Payasos en Chihuahua

and trying to stay on top of my teaching and CCU supe responsibilities. Here's a picture of my Chicago Senior Clown Troupe Class -- I love these people.  That guy in the chair is 95!
