I remember a story from our childrens' books about an icy Christmas when the main character kept saying, "Christmas won't be the same!" and her other patiently responded, "no, it will be different."
So our Christmas was different, but still full of good news and good cheer. Here is a photo of our beautiful new mantelpiece, which is now the perfect place to show off past Christmas presents.
And then we have a white New Year instead of a white Christmas! Thank God for warm houses from which to look at the lovely scene.
Have a safe and happy celebration of the New Year! As Yogi said, it's not over till it's over, so we may have more of the same in 2021, but since that more is family, we can manage the bad with the good that we have.
