Forty Years -- and counting!

So sorry you all couldn't make it for the big celebration, we missed you!

It was a great party and an interesting mix of people from all different stages and places throughout our lives. I spent the month prior to the party doing a total room to room clean and tidy and rearrange. We bought a lovely new couch for the music room to replace the sagging love seat and pulled out the carpet to just have bare wood floors. I repainted the bathroom floor and sewed new bedroom curtains. Lots of dusting and scrubbing and washing of windows and getting rid of piles. Of course like every other party we've given, everyone gathered in the kitchen and dining room, squished into the narrow hallway and jammed around the table. People only passed through the fabulous front rooms! (Oh well, now the house looks pretty good for everyday life too!) 

Eventually we all moved out to the back yard. The weather was really perfect and the garden looked pretty good. It was a lot of fun.
