Sue's Book Report

I’m (Sue) reviewing two books not assigned to me.

The first book, ‘Girls Who Looked Under Rocks; The Lives of Six Pioneering Naturalists’ by J. Atkins was written for Middle Schoolers.  I enjoyed learning about new scientists-- ranging from lepidopterist, Maria Sibylla Merian from the late 1600’s to primatologist, Jane Goodall.

The second book, ‘An Ordinary Man’ by P. Rusesabagina was not light Holiday fare. It was about the 1994 3-month genocide in Rwanda. The U.N. and U.S., France, Belgium countries didn’t help until afterwards. It was a tough, graphic  read--but I’d recommend it for adults. I haven’t seen the movie ‘Hotel Rwanda’ which was inspired by the story.
