we've all but fallen apart here. Lucie "shadowed" two school also (even though it's seventh grade, they have to declare in first semester of eighth grade so you have to do it in the spring). A half-day last Monday at Incarnate Word and full day this Monday at Rosati-Kain. Even though she was nervous, she ended up enjoying both days. Unfortunately, she is (like her father) TERRIBLE at changes in schedule and it threw her off her homework and studying - plus the spring musical event was on Tuesday with rehearsals and then an afternoon performance and evening performance. So she had a horrible Social Studies test, froze when she had to recite her onomatopoeia poem and did "not so good" on her subjective clause test. SHEESH! So when her Social Studies teacher told her she could take her Constitution test over on Thursday (day of her ALL BODY SYSTEMS science test) she fell apart and was sent (for advice and comfort) to Mrs. Talleur, the principal, who said - spring break is coming, it's better to get it all over with, you can do this, don't worry! So, last night we were memorizing and reviewing the body and trying to decipher the constitutional language. Rubén and I both felt we'd learned (relearned) an awful lot - we actually had fun, especially learning about the large and small intestines...so, I think our spring break will be quiet and nourishing and recovering from stress, as well as getting ready for Holy Saturday (Lucie and Doxey will take part with the adult confirmands/baptized with their "first" communion) and Confirmation which is on the 16th of April - oh, that's the other thing that happened, Lucie finally chose her sponsor, Mrs. Liddy her 7th grade teacher - I had to go with her, she was afraid she'd say no, even though we've all been telling her anyone would love to be her madrina!
